VPIF Letters To Her Majesty

The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever. (Psalm 12:6 & 7) ............ For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven. (Psalm 119:89).............. I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. (Psalm 138:2)................ All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: (2 Timothy 3:16) ................ Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. (Proverbs 30:5)

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

I take the liberty of writing to you, and do so on behalf of the thousands who read the journal `1521'. We in turn represent a multitude of your loyal subjects throughout this nation, indeed the Commonwealth.

We remember with joy, and thanksgiving to Almighty God, the day you took your Coronation Oath before Him and the people in which you promised to uphold the 'Protestant Reformed Religion' to the 'utmost'. We have prayed for you ever since.

However, we were grieved in May 1982 when the Pope of Rome entered your Kingdom, and actually met you inside Buckingham Palace. We remember the Bill of Rights and Act of Settlement (1689 and 1701), in which holding 'communion' with the See of Rome, as you of course are aware, is considered 'inconsistent with the safety and welfare of this Protestant kingdom'.

The See of Rome claims to be unchangeable. She also desires to have your Protestant kingdom back to her fold. Remembering how successive popes have sought through the centuries to achieve this aim, we fear for your personal safety and that of your family.

(The Queen responded to my letter of fifteen years ago little realising what lay ahead for her, confidently assuring me she was in no danger, but the danger anticipated was not necessarily physical. Even when the letters were being exchanged, through the use being made of Princess Diana by Cardinal Hume and Mother Teresa, the Protestant throne was soon to start wobbling.)

I take the liberty of writing to you, and do so on behalf of those throughout Britain and the Commonwealth who support the ministry of the Vocal Protestants' International Fellowship.

It is as your loyal subjects, Christian men and women who have prayed for you throughout your long reign, that we desire to express our deep concern about the increasing popularity of multi-faith worship as experienced at recent Commonwealth Day services. Already, 77,000 people have expressed their concern to you through signed petitions about this matter.

Jesus, God the Son, stressed that 'I and my Father are one' (John 10:30) and He has made it very plain that 'no man cometh unto the Father, but by me (John 14:6).' Likewise, the apostles, following our Lord's teaching, declared that there is no 'salvation in any other, for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12)'. Equally, 'there is one God, and ONE mediator between God and men, the man CHRIST JESUS (1 Tim.2:5)'. Christians can afford to be humbly dogmatic about these eternal truths, however much human sentimentality might object.

Your Majesty, what grieves us is that you in your appointed title as 'Defender of the Faith' are seen (together with members of your family) to acquiesce to what is after all a denial of the basic tenet of Christianity; namely, that Christ alone is God. What a contrast there is between His offer of salvation by free and sovereign grace, and the wretched and futile attempts within heathen religions to seek self-redemption!

In the light of this, how saddened we are to realise that the solemn Oath you made at your Coronation in the sight of Almighty God and your rejoicing subjects - has been broken. On that occasion, you vowed that you would 'to the utmost... maintain.. . the true profession of the Gospel...' and also to the utmost of your power 'maintain the Protestant Reformed Religion.' Visits to the Vatican, and the encouraging of multi-faith religious practices in your Realm, have undermined the sacred trust committed to your charge. We would, with great respect your Majesty, remind you that King Solomon incurred God's anger for similar offences (I Kings 11:9).

(That anger was soon displayed in the Queen's sad domestic situation; the gradual break up of her children's marriages. Then in November 1992 the nation witnessed Windsor Castle ablaze, and it appeared symbolic of the judgment upon the House of Windsor.)

A very large proportion of your loyal subjects within the British Isles and the Commonwealth as a whole, as you must be aware, were grieved beyond measure upon seeing your Majesty enter Westminster Roman Catholic Cathedral last week. The applauding of the people as you entered only served to twist the knife in the back of those of us today seeking to uphold Christ's gospel, in the face of Roman Catholic opposition to it wherever Vatican influence is felt. Why, only a year before the foundation stone was laid (1894), the 'Catholic Standard and Ransomer' stated, 'We have set ourselves to win back England to Rome. This means war Protestantism we must oppose it.'

Is that aggression just a matter of history? Cardinal Hume, seen shaking your Majesty's hand as a 'loyal' friend and subject (as you 'communed' with the See of Rome contrary to the Bill of Rights and Act of Settlement, 1689/1701), said recently, 'This is the conversion of England for which we have long prayed'. I expect you heard representatives of your grieving people expressing their feelings outside the cathedral, as they shouted 'BETRAYAL.

Your Majesty, you were also seen and heard on your glorious Coronation Day making solemn vows to Almighty God and your trusting subjects, that you would 'to the utmost' maintain the laws of God, the true profession of the gospel, the PROTESTANT REFORMED FAITH established BY LAW. With genuine grief, we have to say, all these vows (even the law) have been broken continually since your Majesty first visited the Vatican in May 1961, a mere eight years into your reign. Your office informed us, that 'Cardinal Hume has attended many services at which the Queen, as Sovereign Head of the Church of England, was present'. But the Cardinal is NOT the constitutional head of the nation, or has made binding oaths to God about the fact.

Tragically, your Majesty's family can no longer be upheld as an example for the young to follow, but we still had our Queen to look up to, or so we thought. But now, sacred promises have been deliberately broken, biblical truth undermined, and our Protestant heritage treated lightly. It is an extremely sad day for us all, and one is reminded of God's Word concerning the keeping of vows, 'wherefore should God be angry at thy voice, and destroy the work of thine hands' (Eccles.5:6)?

(' . . . .and destroy the work of thine hands.': soon after the letter was received, the criticisms of the Royal Family reached a crescendo in the death of Princess Diana when the Family remained in Scotland. So intense was the public disquiet the Queen felt obliged to return to London and broadcast to the nation. Since then the role of the monarchy has often been publicly questioned. One is left wondering what the future holds for the House of Windsor, unless the Queen repents of her sinful disdain of the Coronation Oath and betrayal of the revealed truth that lies behind it.)
