PEOPLE WITH HIGHER INTELLIGENT QUOTIENT

Surprisingly, it has been reported that East Asians are the people in this world with higher IQ. The information may be glimpsed from the links below with one showing the average IQ world map and the other showing tabulated IQ values of nations.

These findings show that people in most of the developed countries have a lower IQ comparing to people of the East Asian nations. Before you jump and rejoice that you belong to the privileged group of high IQ nations, you better understand that some of these findings must be taken with a pinch of salt.

Nonetheless, the Scriptures do have something to say about people who are supposed to be wise in this world.

Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness. (1 Corinthians 1:20&21, 26-31; 3:19)

Here is the Lord’s attitude towards those who really think they are wise.

In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight. (Luke 10:21)

This should be the posture for a child of God.

For our rejoicing is this, the testimony of our conscience, that in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, we have had our conversation in the world, and more abundantly to you-ward.
2 Corinthians 1:12
