Ever since the sacking of Jerusalem nearly two thousand years ago, how many Christians down through the Church age really believe God would restore Israel as a nation? Not very many because the eyes of fallen men cannot believe what they cannot see. So Israel is conveniently spiritualized away to mean the Church. This is absolute rubbish to say the least.
Likewise, Babylon that had been replaced by the Media-Persian Empire some two thousand five hundred years ago has also been spiritualized away to mean the Roman Catholic Church and nothing more. This is done notwithstanding the fact that Babylon existed of old and had an actual geographical location where the apostle Peter also wrote a letter from the church founded there (1 Peter 5:13).
How many Christians would believe the actual restoration of Babylon to the days not seen since the time of Daniel under the reign of King Nebuchadnezzar?

If Dubai could be transformed in such a short time with her oil wealth, imagine what the whole Middle East could become when they work together as a region?
While modern day Iraq is still in a mess, this does not mean Babylon will not be rebuilt to its former glory. The Iron Curtain and the Bamboo Curtain of the cold war had been removed just more than decade ago. What is going to stop the passing of the Islamic Curtain so that the whole world would become one where the MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH that sits upon the waters of the nations of people will not be exalted to its full glory before the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ?
Christians should not be fooled by news report of the trouble in the Middle East. Even during the present troublous time in the Middle East, politicians there are already talking about the days after peace on how to cooperate to bring in a renaissance not seen for centuries past. A report from the World Economic Forum on that region should suffice to show what the Middle East could become when Babylon is finally getting the attention of the whole world.
This present global world is getting smaller and smaller by the day where many are already running to and fro in this knowledge driven age. The fullness of Babylon in its political and religious form would soon one day be restored to where her natural geographic location is in a not too distant future. The full manifestation of Babylon is being revealed a little at a time. The prophetic words of the Lord Jesus Christ are instructional on this matter.
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man. They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage,
until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all. Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot;
they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded; But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
